Oleg Poluektov
Senior Investigator
Oleg Poluektov is a senior scientist at Argonne National Laboratory. He received his Ph.D. in chemical physics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. In 1983 he joined laboratory of Prof. Ya. Lebedev at the Semenov’s Institute of Chemical Physics, Moscow, where he was involved in the development of high-frequency EPR spectroscopy and its applications to material research. In 1991–1996 he was a visiting scientist in the laboratory of Prof. J. Schmidt, Leiden University. In 2000 he joined Argonne National Laboratory as a staff scientist. His research is currently focused on the study of photoinduced charge separation mechanisms in natural and artificial photosynthetic systems as well as microenvironment control of the electron transfer reactions.
